So on just over a week ago we said goodbye to our little white van. We both cried. The sun was finally setting on our life in France.

That little van got us through so much, from driving us through France to various jobs, to ferrying me to St Malo as I made my way to Jersey to work, for us to survive.
It was a little workhorse when we moved out of Montaigu and not least it carried us across France, and through the Irish mountains when we landed in Ireland. The sat Nav took us down snowy tracks, but that little van knew we had all that we loved in it….each other, the two Welshies and Diddies and Daisy meowing in the back. It got us to our destination safely, and then did it all again when we moved from our rental to our home now.
Now the Welsies have left us to run free through the Irish mountains (although they are always in the clouds above us, watching over us, and just recently I have seen a black and white cat out of the corner of my eye on a number of occasions, in our hall, on the windowsill, whilst all the time Daisy has snored on the settle.) and only Daisy remains of that time. The van really was a van full of poignant memories from France, and it’s as if we are now closing the door on our life there.
But life moves forwards, and our life has moved forward so much over the past few months. The van was costing us money every year, we needed a new vehicle, so we had to say goodbye, and buy a vehicle with little outgoings. Another chapter in our life in Ireland.
