Again!!!

So here we are, in the dark, AGAIN! I have to say that whilst the electric supply in France could be erratic, in Ireland it is downright dismal in the rural communities.

RD and I have accepted that during the storms, most recently storm Amy two weeks ago, when our electric was off for eighteen hours, that the chances are we will lose our electric. But today, just sitting down after our chores, with a cup of tea, off it all went again! It appears we are caught up in a Known fault, God knows why!

After the storms in January, when we had no electricity for about thirty- six hours, we purchased these little battery run lamps. Since storm Amy we have now purchased a power pack to charge our phones, and torches, and because the heating is affected we also bought a beautiful gas stove.

Both purchases were in the last two weeks, and thank God we got them.

RD and I have just estimated that we probably have a power-cut at least once a week. More often than not for a couple of minutes at a time, but it knocks the internet out, which can then take ages to come back, Alexa stops working properly for days, and of course the dreaded cooker clocks have to be reset. And they’re always so easy to do right!

In fact, only today, we thought about setting our remote control plugs, that have also been knocked out and all come on simultaneously now. I said to RD , ‘Oh don’t bother, the electric will only go again.

I should have known better.

I manifested that.!

Of course, who knows when you will get to read this post, as I have no internet to post it!

  1. Ah well, that’s life, I suppose. At least your little battery powered lamps are cute, and the gas stove will keep you warm!
