I save beautiful pictures when I see them on Facebook. Pictures that stir an emotion in me, make me smile, evoke memories. Not all aspects of social media are bad. I then use them as screen-saves, changing them every month. It’s a small thing in this world of doom, but it’s the small things that count.
This picture brought back a memory for me, and tears in my eyes.
When we first moved to France we lived in a rented house with a huge, beautifully landscaped garden. Every day I would carry my washing to the line and peg it out. It’s a chore I enjoy. There is nothing like pulling clean clothes from the machine, pegging them out, and looking at them, fresh on the line.
And every day a beautiful Welshie called Harley would follow me, and lay down beside the basket to wait for me.
This picture evoked that memory . And whilst it made me tear up, it also made me smile at the memory. Three small things that have given or do give me happiness.: A beautiful picture, washing on the line, and Harley.
I miss him so.
