If there was ever a day for snuggling, this day is it. Ireland is currently being tortured by storm Boelo; and the north west in particular. That’s us, Donegal.
The storm started yesterday morning, slowly building up to a crescendo at about 2am this morning; and it is still continuing now.
It has been a humdinger.
Luckily we did not lose electricity this time (how I don’t know!) but we have not braved going out yet to see what damage has been done. In fact we have taken the opportunity to take the time (courtesy of the clocks going back one hour) to just chill and snuggle. Hence the photos of the Lakies still in bed, bellies up, snoring. They have not moved yet!
In some ways it is a good thing. I thought to myself the other day how we spend so long making our houses look nice, but never seem to take the time to just sit in them and ‘be’. It’s madness!
So I am making it my mission to just ‘be’.
I am often drawn to fine art drawings depicting homely things, especially at this time of year, but I have not been giving myself the time to follow their lead. Despite their inspiration and the clear message from my subconscious that is drawing me to them..

I think in this day and age there is some sort of guilt if you are not actively doing something, all the time. In a world with the prevalence of social media, everything is quick, now, immediate, and I am wondering if that is now rubbing off on me.Am I losing my ability to concentrate on one thing?
I want to write more, to be honest I want to step away from this world more. I don’t think I’m alone.
So today we have been led by the Lakies and Elfie, and we are chilling in bed. It is reminiscent of cold Sundays in France, surrounded by Welshies.

Times they are a changing.
