Changing Thing Down – Christmas

Our Christmas Garland

Now anyone who has followed this blog over the years will know that putting the Christmas Decorations up is actually my most favourite time of the year.

Christmas In Montague 2017

We have had real trees, fake trees, and one year we had two trees!

But this year has been all about embracing our tiny bungalow. I have, in line with our renovations, gone small. Instead of buying a big tree I have taken into account the fact that our house is small, and our puppies are naughty! A Christmas Tree that was on the floor would not survive, nothing would survive!

Last year we thought Elfie would be the same. But Elfie is an angel, all in black. She never touched the tree once. She is a beautiful girl through and through.

Elfie

Due to Elfie we lifted the cheap tree we had bought when we first moved here, up out of her way. Elfie never touched a thing.

Our Christmas garland last year.

This year, we actually screw a piece of wood across the door when we go out! Nothing would survive with the tornado Lakies. We have also bought two new trees. Two three foot ones….

The Pink Tree
The Winter Tree

I love the arty things you can do. I have so many decorations, collected over the last thirty eight years. So I started with our Winter garland, using my Crystals, and silver and white decos. I added my icicle garland, and my snow touched ivy garland, I wanted it to look like a frozen garland. Something you would find in a magical Winter Forest.

I then moved round to our first tree, our Winter tree…

Then we started to get warmer, and moved onto pinks, on a snowy tree. Picking up the pink from our handmade star, and our heart..

And moved round to traditional. With a fruity, traditionally coloured garland around the door.

I know! The new cooker hood is adding to the theme! Look at my new kitchen. More to come.

Let’s have a simple, stress free Christmas. Let’s just live in the moment.

If only the world could do the same.
